The Stag Party

Mick is finally losing his freedom.

So, to celebrate / commiserate we went on a Stag day/night out on Saturday 27th January 2001.

First of all an afternoon reverting back to our childhood, playing with guns and shooting people. For anyone who has not been paintballing before, it is great fun, if you have always fancied playing at Rambo or just want the chance to have a go at your mates, this is the opportunity you've been waiting for.

In the evening we had, surprise, surprise, a pub crawl. Just before starting the crawl out came another surprise. The ball and chain which has been used on countless stag parties over the last fifteen years. Mick normally looks after it but on Christmas eve it disappeared from his garage. Finally, it had reappeared with a nice shiny new padlock. The plastic chain and balloon had just been a practice. The ball and chain is a little heavier weighing in at 2.5 stones (16kg).

The crawl started at the Merry Monk on College Road, working our way up along Bury Road and finally ending up at the Blue Ball in Norden.

This was followed by a curry down at Raj's on Spotland road.
